Co-creation: the rules
Last updated: 12 October 2026
These principles guide the written agreement we sign with you before any development. Only that agreement binds iapiap.
The idea
You bring a real problem and, if you can, access to the people who have it. We design, build, host, publish and maintain the app, at our cost and our risk. If it earns money, you get a share of its revenue.
Your share
- 10% · The idea. A well-described problem that you live with or see up close.
- 20% · The field. You test the app while it is being built and open the door to test users.
- Up to 35% · Distribution. You recommend the app to your network, your clients, your profession, and help it find its first users.
The tier is set in the agreement, before development, according to what you actually bring. The more work the studio does, the lower the share.
What "revenue" means
The amounts actually paid to iapiap for the app concerned by Apple, Google or our payment provider, excluding VAT and after their commission. The share applies only to the app built with you.
Example: a €9.99 purchase (VAT included) in France brings iapiap about €7.08 once VAT and Apple's 15% commission are deducted. With a 20% share, you get about €1.42.
Duration and payments
- 5 years from the app's public release, renewable by mutual agreement.
- A statement and a payment every quarter, once your share reaches €50. Below that, it is carried over to the next quarter.
- No equity: this is a revenue-sharing contract.
Our three commitments
- An answer within 15 days, from a human. Three possible answers: "we'll build it with you", "not for us, it stays yours", or "already in progress here", with dated proof (our decision log is dated).
- First come. If several people bring us the same problem, the first dated record wins. If they moved it forward together, the share is split.
- Confidentiality. We never publish or quote your proposal without your consent. If we don't build it, it stays yours.
Good to know
An idea alone is not protected by copyright. We receive proposals close to our current projects: sending a problem creates no right, for you or for us, until an agreement is signed.
For now, co-creation is open in France and French-speaking Europe. iapiap SAS is being registered: agreements are signed by iapiap once registered.
How we handle your data is described in the privacy policy.
